I took pictures today but I haven't downloaded them to my computer yet! I was busy all day getting the Christmas stuff put away (which I still have quite a bit to finish up with!) and my daughter used my computer to get her homework done. I hope to get the photos loaded up tomorrow and then I will post one for today!

Nothing new actually. It was a pretty day today, with the sun shining on the snow. Really felt like a winter day which was actually nice for a change!

Gardening -
I recycled a few more containers today. They should be nice for starting seeds. Not huge ones but big enough and they have lids! My daughter was teasing me saying heaven forbid should a container get thrown away in this house! lol Hey, what can I say? I believe in recycling, helping the environment, saving the rain forest and having containers to start my beloved plants in come Spring! :o)

I was looking at my milk jug today (a 2 liter plastic jug) and wondering if it would be big enough to plant pepper seeds in and leave them in to grow? After cutting, it is 6" deep, 4" wide and 4" across. Last year my pepper plants, in pots, didn't get very big and I only got one (nice!) pepper off each plant. Perhaps the pot wasn't big enough? Perhaps the milk jug wouldn't be big enough? It would sure save me some garden space if I could put the peppers in milk jugs. Has anyone tried it with any success? Please let me know!

Is there anyone reading this blog that has reused soap slivers? I have been saving all of my soap slivers for about a year now, thinking I would remelt them and make some new bars of soap. Has anyone done this, how does it work? Do I just melt the slivers down? In the oven, in a pan on the stove, in a double boiler? I don't have soap molds so I was thinking about just putting some cupcake papers in the pan and putting the melted soap in those. Then just peel and use! I have never done it before though so I am not entirely sure how or even if, it will work! Has anyone done this? Let me know! I would love to hear from you!

Santa is my photo today! I am crazy about Santas and have a small collection of them. Every year I try to add at least one new Santa but this year, I didn't find one. My friend, however, gave me a plant with a Santa climbing up the trellis! I also got a giant Santa cookie from my daughter and I did buy a Santa boot planter! I, personally, did not buy a new Santa this year though!

On another note, we got some more snow today! Now I know that isn't uncommon at this time of year for a lot of people but in the 10 years I have been in Holland, not one year have I seen as much snow as we have gotten already this winter! I actually think you could take the previous 9 years, add up the snow and it still wouldn't equal what we got in the past month alone! It is wonderful! I am loving it, that's for sure! I am a northern girl, born and bred. I come from Wisconsin where winters are cold and snowy! I am no stranger to either one so how did I end up in a country where if they get an inch, they feel like they got a blizzard? Oh well, I will enjoy it while it lasts!

Even with the snow and cold, I am already dreaming about my garden and what I am going to plant and how and where! See, this year is going to be a bit tricky. I don't have my big garden anymore, just the backyard. Now, unlike in the States, yards here are not big at all! I am lucky to have a yard here to be honest! While my yard is not tiny, it is also not big and only about half of it is usable for a garden because the other half gets too much shade. I have 2 - 4x4 squares, 1 - 2x4 square and on the other side, probably a 4x6 area. I have lots of fencing, a patio, and some ladders. I got some shallow rain gutters I am going to secure to the fence and try growing lettuces, radishes, and probably some herbs in them since they are all shallow rooted. I will throw in a few flower seeds here and there as well. They are too shallow for much else but even getting the lettuces out of the 4x4 will give me 2-3 squares I used last year, plus, if I can get parsley and basil in the gutters, that opens up my 2x4 as well as that's where I had those.
I am going to try and raise the ladders up on posts and then attach fencing or screen on the sides from the top down to the ground. On these, I can grow peas or beans and maybe, up the posts, I can grow cucumbers or small pumpkins that will grow along the top ladders and can hang down then. I also have another painters ladder that I want to put a bunch of pots on the rungs. I figure again, maybe herbs, beans(bush), maybe some single pots with onions in? lol I don't know!
It is so hard to go from 300 sq meters of space to about 8(?) sq meters. It is breaking my heart but I am determined to make the most of the space I have! If anyone has any ideas for growing veggies in such a small space, send me a note! In the meantime, I will keep dreaming and thinking about how to grow a ton in a small space! :o)

January 1 - cappuccino

What, you may ask, am I doing posting a picture of a cup of coffee? Well, I was blog hopping this past week and read about 365 days of photo taking. Now I take a lot of photos, (just ask anyone who goes anywhere with me!), however, I don't take photos every day! I am going to try and take one photo a day, of things that mean something to me, ARE me, affect me, tease me, taunt me, or just plain move me in some way. Will I manage 365 days? Who knows? I managed to quit smoking finally so maybe I can do this, too! No promises, because we all know what happened with the postcards last year! Let's just start out and see what happens!

The coffee, cappuccino, is the first thing I do when I get up. I head for the machine and make my coffee!
In America, I always drank my coffee hot and black. Here in Holland, the coffee is SO much stronger and for the first several years I was here, I never touched coffee because of it. Then along came the Senseo machine and cappuccino! Oh, I was in heaven! I am not a milk and sugar fan but here was a coffee I could finally drink! I finally have my coffee again, every morning, and can't imagine starting a day without it! How about you? What do you drink to start your day?

Do you love to scrap?

Do you make hybrid projects out of digital scrapbook materials?

Do you like getting free kits in exchange for creating a layout or two?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this email is for you!

I am searching for a few scrappers for my Creative Team.

You do NOT have to be on a creative team to apply! You do NOT have to have prior experience!

Experienced scrappers, members of other CT’s are also welcome to apply!

No matter what your level of experience, you must love scrapping or creating with scrapbook materials!

I will admit to being interested in hybrid scrappers as well as layout scrappers! (Hybrid to me is making crafty things from digital kits. Calendars, boxes, bags, clocks, etc)

What do I ask of you?

-I ask 1-2 layouts or hybrid projects or a combination from each kit. I don’t make a lot of kits, I am easy to work with and my kits are PACKED! :o)

-I ask you to work with my new kits but my old kits are also available for playing with! I understand not all kits work for everyone so if a kit doesn’t work for you, you can choose something else to work with! You can work with any or all of my kits but only one kit at a time.

-I ask that you post your layouts to 2-3 galleries, one of which should be Digitals, as that’s where I sell my products!

If you post layouts to Yahoo groups, even better, but not required!

-I ask for you to send me the links so I can leave you some love.

-I ask for honest feedback on my kits. If you hated it, I want to know so I can improve on the next one! If you loved it, I want to know! If you think it needs more or certain elements, I want to know! I just ask you to be honest, no matter what you think of them!

-You must be able to download files from 4shared, Mediafire, etc.

-You must agree to NEVER share the files or links with ANYONE or any group. If I catch you doing it, you will be immediately let go from the team.

I am leaving for Germany Monday, August 24, so please send all responses by Friday, August 21. I will make a decision before I leave. If I don’t get enough responses, then I will perhaps run this again after I get back but I would really like to have this wrapped up before I leave.

August 2 - Butterfly postcard

I am finding it a boring day today for some reason! I have plenty of things I could do to stay busy but you know how those lazy Sundays can be! This is definitely one of them! I just have no energy or enthusiasm for anything. I could be cleaning, doing laundry, ironing, designing, even just playing games on Facebook but nothing trips my trigger today. *sigh* These are the kind of days you should have in the winter when you can curl up and take a nap. Summer days are made for doing something and not sleeping! Oh well, it is 8:30pm so the day is almost over so I guess it really doesn't matter so much anymore.

Polar Express Blog Train - Day 5

Day 5 and the train has picked up steam! We are cruising down the mountain and heading quickly to our final destination!

In case you checked in early yesterday, you might not know I finally have the new kit, Love Sonnet, in the store! You can get it this week during the blog train for 30% off! Just $3.85 for a packed kit, believe me! This is the kit I have been using to create these pages. (The preview shows only a FRACTION of the elements in the kit! There were just too many to include them all!)

Here is a layout I did, although a bit blurry due to resizing, using Love Sonnet.

I realized today as I was looking at today's page, I have used frames and odd bits from my commercial stash that aren't in the kit. None of the frames used, nor the pink rose or sequins on today's page are in the kit! Just wanted you to know so you weren't disappointed if you bought the kit! It IS all commercial use though so I haven't violated anyone's TOU! :o) I think it helps to show how you can embellish pages from more than just the kit you are using, don't you?

Welcome to Day 2 of the Polar Express Blog Train! It's great to have you with us! I hope you all grabbed the page for Day 1! I will leave it up for one more day for those who might be just finding us.

Today, I have another page I created using my "Love Sonnet" kit. At the time of this writing, I still don't have the kit in the store. At the time you are reading this.....I do not know! lol I am working hard to get the previews done and then it will go in. I hate making previews and really don't do the kits justice at all! My kits are usually quite large and I always want to add every piece in the previews but that is not always possible! Deciding what to leave out is the hard part! So, maybe it's in the store and maybe not! :o)

Thursday, May 28 - Hello??

Hello? Anyone there? :o)
I see from comments left that some of you have been checking to see if I am back. Well, I am, I think! I am sorry, I know it has been a long few months.

I started a medication to stop smoking a few months ago. From the beginning, I had headaches, nausea, foggy headed and depression. The dr said it was all normal, gave me some meds for the nausea and said, "hang in there, it's only 3 months!" Well, the nausea got bearable anyway and the burning fist in my gut that went with it, settled down. The fog remained and the depression kept getting worse. I just couldn't function; didn't WANT to do anything! I spent hours on Facebook every day just playing games because I didn't have to think. Everything else went by the wayside and I do mean everything! My quality control work, my designing, housework, everything. I simply couldn't move or think anymore.
Now I get depressed in the winter but it always goes away once Spring hits and the flowers start popping up. This year, that never happened.

Well, it has been 2 months, my smoking is half of what it was but not completely gone and I went to the dr and said enough is enough. The depression was killing me and I was tired of not being able to do anything or enjoy anything day in and day out. I was tired of feeling like I had morning sickness every day. I was just plain tired of it all. (Perhaps the depression talking? lol)

I am starting to feel better, my head is so much clearer it is really amazing! I actually got some QC work done yesterday, listened to music, danced around the livingroom and just plain felt pretty darn good all day! Hubby was so happy when last night, I was happy for a change. I am still smoking and fear I will never be able to stop. This was pretty much the last in the line of things to try. I am not going to worry about it for now though. I am going to get my body and mind back together and then go from there. I have enough to think about with deciding whether or not to have surgery on my thyroid or stay on those meds. I can't have iodine treatments because I am severely allergic to iodine. The meds are working at the moment but I go up and down over time so the dr thinks surgery is the answer to get and keep it under control. It's a big decision though because of course, who wants surgery of any kind! Plus, I feel the meds can be adjusted when necessary but if they cut out 2/3's of the thyroid, that's it! It's not coming back! If it doesn't work, then it's meds for life anyway! Of course, if it does work, it means no more meds ever again! (For those who don't know, I have Hashimoto's disease.)
At least now, with my mind clearer, maybe I can think better about having the surgery or not.

So, now you know why I have been missing in action. I am so sorry! I had no idea it had gotten so bad actually until hubby commented one night about how depressed I was. I am glad to be among the living again and not a zombie, just moving through my days, going through the motions. I will try to get back on track with the postcards but it may be a little bit yet. My head is just starting to clear and I have a million things I really need to catch up on.

March 28 - Jelly Beans!

Just a quick post this morning! I have a hectic weekend and probably won't get any other chance to post today!

I went with another Easter themed postcard. This time; a bunch of jellybeans!
These Easter cards could be cute as clue cards for an egg hunt. Write clues on the back of them, leading them to an egg or to the grand prize in the egg hunt.
If you send out menu cards for dinner, this could be used for that as well!
I'm sure there are other clever ways it could be used in connection with Easter as well but at the moment, my brain is running too fast to slow down long enough to think properly!

Have any ideas on how these Easter postcards could be used?

I forgot to post last night's dinner! I made homemade chicken strips last night. One of those meals that is really filling, everyone loves and there are seldom any leftovers! :o)
Tonight, I have no idea what we will be eating! Hubby and I are heading out of town today so we will be eating out somewhere along the way. The kids get stuck at home with frozen pizzas! lol
Not really a terrible thing to them! They love them and we will seldom have frozen pizza. Normally I make them myself, so for them, frozen is a treat! (Smart, huh? lol)

Ok, I hate to post and run but I really must! I have several things I need to do before leaving! Hubby just sprang this all on me last night so I didn't get much time to prepare so I am off!

March 27 - Easter Eggs

Good morning! :o)
I am getting my ducks all in a row today and starting off with posting my blog!

It is a bright, sunny day here today so I am cheerful! It is so wonderful to see the sun! I hope the weather is good by all of you!

I was thinking what kind of a postcard to make today. I needed a break from the flowers and I'm sure you all did as well. I thought, with Easter coming, why not a few postcards that could be sent for that? Today's postcard is of foil covered chocolate eggs. I scanned these last year from a bag of eggs we bought at the candy store. Aren't they beautiful? :o)
The kids are grown now and Easter baskets are a thing of the past but I still enjoy decorating a bit and of course, buying some chocolate to have around for munching!

Here in Holland, it is normal to put up a "tree" for Easter. It is essentially just some willow branches, that may or may not have leaves on them. You stick a few of those in a vase and decorate with little ornaments. I am quite taken with the Easter trees and enjoy setting one up every year.
I have a massive spiral willow in my back yard from branches I got one of the first Easters I was here. After Easter I planted them and it has turned into a beautiful tree! When I planted them, I had no idea they would grow into a willow. I planted 3 branches together! Guess what? I got 3 trees in one spot! lol We cut down 2 of them last year and the other one is growing beautifully! It gives us beautiful shade each year in the back of the garden/backyard.
What can I say? The branches grew roots while it was an Easter tree. I just HAD to plant them! lol

We never have a formal Easter dinner here but I try to get a ham. The hams here are quite small! More like a small rolled rump roast. Some years I would kill to have a good ham shank! I miss having the leftover bone and ham to make split pea soup! Ah well, you learn to make do with what you have! :o) I usually make mashed potatoes and gravy, carrots, Brussels sprouts, dinner rolls, olives and pickles. Pineapple upside down cake for dessert. Nothing much really.
The kids have outgrown the egg hunts so no more getting up early to hide eggs! I do miss it though. I wish I were closer to my grandson so I could hide eggs for him. Maybe one year I will be lucky enough to be home for Easter to do that for him.

What are your Easter traditions? Do you do anything special? Have certain foods?

March 26 - storks

I know, I am really late in posting again today! *sigh* I start out the day thinking I will do it first thing, and then I find I have work to do. Then the day goes on and I keep forgetting!

Today's postcard is another one of those signs of Spring. I actually took this at the zoo last year! I wish I could have gotten higher above the nest to see if there were any eggs in there or maybe even babies! Ah well....I thought this would make a cute postcard anyway. A little plain perhaps but it would be great for baby announcements! :o)

Tonight's dinner was sausages and mac N cheese. It was just DD and I tonight as hubby and DS both had to work late. It was tasty though! :o)

It rained all day here and was just plain yucky again! I guess I am glad I couldn't plant yet because the seeds probably would have just rotted in the ground.

I have discovered I just cannot grow parsley inside! It does fabulous in my gardens but in a pot in the house....dead, dead, dead and I don't know why! I give up! I will just stick to it in the gardens and keep pots of all my other herbs inside as well as out!

It looks like it is time to replant the marigold seedlings already. They are getting quite big! Not a bad thing though as it gives me quite a few more smaller pots to plant more marigolds! I use a lot of marigolds in the garden.

The Shasta Daisies aren't coming up very well but I did use old seeds so it was a hit and miss thing anyway. I guess I will have to replant with newer ones.

My 3 pots of lettuce I planted are doing fabulous!!! They are getting so big! All of the other lettuce I planted is still in the seedling stage. I will have a ton of lettuce right from my windowsill before I ever get any in the garden! lol

My oregano isn't growing so well. I have some sprouts in one of the 3 pots I planted and the marjoram, none of them have come up yet. To be fair though, I planted old seeds so it, too, was a hit and miss exercise anyway. I guess I will have to dig out the newer seeds and try again!

The basil seedlings got big enough to put into bigger pots and are doing nicely. I planted some more basil 2 days ago and it's already sprouted!

I keep waiting on starting any veggie seeds because of the cold weather and all the rain. I suppose I will be too late in getting them going and then the weather will turn nice and I will wish I had them ready for planting in the garden! I have bags and bags of seeds plus you will find cups and bags all over my house with various seeds in them that I have taken out of veggies! I have 3 different pepper seeds in cups right in front of me on my desk! lol

Did I tell you I built a new shelf on the windowsill? I ran out of room to put the starters so I grabbed some bricks from the back garden and piled them up on each side of the windowsill. I then laid a board over the top of them! Worked like a charm! I am going to add one more board between the bricks, about midway though. The starters can be on the bottom where they get the warmth from the radiator. When they start sprouting, I can move them up a few inches to the middle shelf. When they get too tall or need bigger pots, then they will move up to the top shelf! Plus, I have some room on the windowsill on either side of the shelf as well. Hubby said he is willing to give up his shelving boards for it since it is only temporary anyway! What a guy! :o)

So, there you have the farm report! :o)

Ok, it is after 2am here so I am going to close and go to bed! *gasp* In bed before 5am??? Unheard of for me lately! lol I am a bit tired again tonight though.

March 25 - The Road Not Taken

Today's postcard, while not the very best in quality, is still one of my favorite photos. This photo reminds me of a poem I read when I was young and have never forgotten:

I have added a beautiful piece of music from YouTube on the side bar, at the very top, on the right. My daughter played this for me today and I absolutely fell in love with this child's voice let alone the song! I think my daughter said he was 12 in this video. I could be wrong but he is not very old at all! His name is Declan Galbraith and he has the voice of an angel!

It is such a peaceful song and goes so well with today's postcard! Do yourself a favor, click on the player to play the song. Then, when you are done playing it again about 100 times like I did, :o) let me know what you think in your comments! :o) Isn't it just amazing? Looking at the photo and listening to the music made me feel like I was wandering through those flowers and what a relaxing feeling that was! I felt alone with nature with an angel above singing while I walked.

Dinner tonight - we had Kip Krokant Schnitzel. Tells you alot huh? lol Basically, chicken cutlets with a crispy coating. We also had mashed potatoes with chives and parsley and a blend of veggies (from a can, I admit it!). What did you have tonight?

Mary - I knew you would get the bulbs answer right! lol Being a gardener and in a club, I would be disappointed if you hadn't! :o)

March 24 - More flowers!

Yes, I am very late! Was a busy day today but I am here! :o)
This will be short and sweet as it is 1am here!

Today's postcard is another flower one from the Keukenhof! With the dreary day we had today, I needed something bright and cheery and this does the trick for me! I hope it's the same for you!

Dinner tonight: Hubby was sweet and we grabbed Subway and brought it home tonight. Hmmm, maybe he didn't like MY sandwiches last night? lol Actually, he loved them but he likes Subway, has been hungry for it and it sure made my night easier not having to cook or clean up after! What a guy huh? :o)
So, what did you have for dinner tonight?

March 23 - Happy Birthday Mom!

It's my Mom's birthday today! Happy Birthday Mom!
Not that my Mom reads my blog but I wanted to acknowledge it online just the same! For all I know she does read it and just doesn't tell me! :o)

Today is nasty here! Rainy and gray. I'm glad my MIL told me it was raining where they live. We usually get it about a half hour after them so I ran to the store right away after talking to her. Boy, am I glad I did! :o) It started raining not long after I got home.

Food notes:
I thought I would start putting in here what we are eating for dinner at night. Why? I have no idea! lol Perhaps you can leave a comment about what you are having/had for your dinner as well! It might give us some ideas! Kind of a "dinner meal exchange" of sorts!
Tonight, we are having sub sandwiches. We love the Chicken Teriaki (sp?) sandwiches at Subway but who can afford to eat out nowadays? I found a great sauce at my grocery store for just over an euro a jar. I cut up chicken breasts into small pieces, cook them and then add the sauce. I also add just a bit of brown sugar as we like it just a little sweeter. Add some onions, lettuce, tomato and mozzarella cheese and you have a sub for about 1/3 of the price. I will probably throw in some fries to go with this as well.
What are you having for dinner?

Today's postcard may look strange to some of you. Can anyone tell me what those white things are in the middle of the postcard? I know what they are but do you?
Hint: This photo was taken at the Keukenhof. If you have been following my blog, by now you should know what the Keukenhof is and what they have there! Shout out! What are those white blobs on the postcard? :o)

Sunday, March 22 - Lily

Look! I am posting early! lol
I haven't even opened my Facebook yet! :o)

We have another beautiful, sunny day here in Holland! Maybe I will get outside and get something done in the back garden. I do need to dig up roots from the Hedera. Never again will I plant any type of ivy plant. I grew Hedera on the fences, trying to fill in gaps between the slats in the fence. It worked beautifully and looked nice until we decided to take it out. We found it really caused some damage to the fences and when the high winds came along last year, the fencing crumbled. Needless to say, we had to replace all of the fencing on that side of the yard. The problem is, the Hedera roots really dug in and I need to get them out so I can lay my new veggie gardens.
I also have a lot of sand that we threw in for the pool that needs to be shovelled up and dumped somewhere. Where we had the pond, we dumped sand in as well so I have lots of sand to deal with now. The sand might be good for beets and carrots but I doubt many of the other veggies will grow well in it. *sigh* So much to do.

I have another flower postcard for you today. This is a closeup photo of some Lilies at the Keukenhof. I love getting up close and personal when I take photos. This gorgeous Lily looks just like the Lilies I have in my backyard behind the waterfall. While I am not a big fan of Lilies, I do like their bold colors and how they stand so tall and regal. They are an unassuming flower yet really manage to grab your attention! I hope you enjoy today's postcard.

Just a quick post tonight! We just got home from the in-laws not too long ago and I am beat! Going to post this, feed my eggs and go to bed long before 5am I think! :o) Too many late nights are catching up to me now!

Today's postcard is a waterfall, found, where else? The Keukenhof! lol
I know it is not a colorful photo but I really like the simplicity and peacefulness of it. It was zen-like, just sitting and looking at this fountain. Very relaxing and just kind of tucked away into some trees. I hope you like it!

March 20 - Welcome Spring!

I know! I am late again but today it's not because I was on Facebook! lol
Hubby got off early from work and asked me if I wanted to go shopping. Well now, I am a female and enjoy the occasional shopping spree so how could I say no? lol The funny thing was, I was cleaning, scrubbing the bathroom, doing laundry, really getting things done for a change instead of playing my game! But still, how is a girl to refuse an offer like that from hubby I ask you? :o)
We had a good time, just the two of us; roaming around the center in search of those delightful chocolate Easter eggs. They are like the small, hard shell, Cadbury eggs, I think they are. You know, hard shell on the outside and solid chocolate inside? They are about the size of a dime. Just little bitty things and oh so good! Our candy store has carried them for years but they didn't get them this year! Arrrrgggg So we went in search of them but nobody has them this year! How can that be? That is my favorite Easter candy and I was thrilled to find them here! *sigh* We will probably make a trip into Rotterdam one of these days and see if we can find them there. If not, anybody want to send me some eggs? lol Just kidding!

The day was a bit chilly, just the tiniest bit, but the sun was out so that made it all good! I am glad I am keeping my urge to get things in the ground in check though. Hubby said several days this week, while it was warm in the daytime, in the morning when he left for work, he had to scrape the frost off of his windows. Not a good thing for tender veggies!
I guess I will just have to start some more seeds in the house and be patient! Not one of my stronger points!

Today is officially Spring! It sure felt like it would never get here this year, didn't it?
When we were out today, we saw all of the daffodils and crocuses in bloom. They line the streets with them here and it is so pretty to drive along and see it! I will have to go out and take some photos! I have some from several years ago but my photos were smaller then so they wouldn't make for nice postcards.

I did check in to Facebook earlier tonight and I was gifted with 13 fabulous warehouse eggs. It made me cry! It was such a wonderful gift and sure saves me a lot of time! Warehouse eggs are bought with "shells". You earn 1 "shell" for every egg you find. The cheapest egg is 100 shells and the most expensive one is 1000 shells. It can take some time to build up enough shells to buy all the eggs you want so being given so many warehouse eggs was an amazing gift! Thank you Jeff! :o)

Judy asked where to find the game. I am not sure! lol It is probably found under applications and it is called Hatchlings. I can send you an invite if you are on my friends list! Do I dare say, "Oops, I did it again"! lol
I really thought I posted this earlier this morning! I actually made myself get dressed, make the bed, empty the dishwasher, throw in a load of clothes and actually get some coffee before going on Facebook! I even made it to the store today, had some face time with my neighbor and made gyros for dinner! I thought I did this as well but I guess I meant to, thought I did, but really didn't! I'm sorry? :o)

Before getting to the postcard, I would like to comment on your comments!

Becky - I am so glad you were able to grab the postcards! I leave them up for a week before I remove the links just in case people miss them. If you still miss them, just leave me a comment and let me know what day you are missing. I don't keep the zips but I do have all of the postcards!

MaryE - Holland really is so beautiful and there is no better time to see it than in the Spring. Everything is in bloom then and while it is still a bit chilly and a lot rainy some years, it is so worth it!
You are doing great in Hatchlings! :o) Don't forget to feed your pets every day! They are kind of like neo pets. They need love and care to survive. If they starve too much, they will fly away from you!

Ok, now for the postcard! Another floral postcard of some flowers at The Keukenhof. It opened today and is only open until May 21. I am hoping I can convince hubby to take me again! It's always so beautiful and even though it is tulips, daffodils, hyacinth, etc., year after year, the way they do it is always different! Plus, of course, they have other displays as well. Next to the Efteling, it is probably my favorite place in Holland!
I think these cheery, bright tulips are just the thing for the last day of winter, don't you think? Yes, tomorrow is officially Spring!!!!!!!!!

March 18 - pipe organs

Surprise! :o)

Good morning!
I thought I would set up today's post BEFORE checking my Facebook account today! lol I think while I am at it, I should probably unload the dishwasher, vacuum, mop, do some laundry and iron some work shirts for hubby as well before I open that page! That's probably the only way they will get done!

It looks like another sunny day here! My garden should be rototilled any day now with all of this nice weather! Maybe by this weekend, I can actually get some peas in the ground! I might even be able to get the potatoes and onion sets in if it's dry enough.

Last year was my first year growing potatoes and they were a definite success! I just planted a small patch of them last year since I had never grown them before and even though it was small, we still ate potatoes out of the garden through November. That was even with giving some away! This year I am tripling the number I am planting and if all goes well again, then next year I will plant even more!
LOL I know tripling sounds like a lot but you have to know that last year, I planted 30. This year I have 90 of them ready to go. What do they call seed potatoes in English? Here they call them potardappelen.
Now of course, this means I will have to forego my Hatchlings game! lol That's ok though. I LOVE gardening so it's not like I am giving up the game to do something I don't want to do! :o)

Enough about all of that! On to the postcard!
Today's postcard is of a pipe organ from the Efteling. (Imagine that! More photos from the Efteling! lol) This organ is in the Laaf area. Laafs are little knome like beings. They are just the cutest little things! Laafland is probably my favorite area in the Efteling.
Anyway, it's not a real pipe organ, as you can see! It does have music coming out of it but not organ music.
Here in Holland, you see a lot of these pipe organs on wheels, playing in the streets. We have one in the center, the downtown area. They are there every Saturday for your shopping pleasure. I just love the music and it puts a big grin on my face every time I hear it.

Hello. My name is Denise and I am a Facebook Hatchlings addict! :o)
I swear this game is going to be the death of me yet! Seriously, if you are on Facebook, stay away from Hatchlings! lol It is a fabulous game and so much fun but it's so addicting!!! That and the word hunt. Oh my.

So, did you all have a nice St Patty's Day?
It was warm and sunny here again so the day was perfect! Well, almost anyway! I didn't get my corned beef brisket since I have yet to find that here in Holland. My mom had sent me some corned beef hash in the last box she sent over so we had that mixed with hash browned potatoes and cabbage. I just threw it all together in a pot after it was all cooked. It was pretty good but still not a brisket! *sigh*
I also made a mint brownie dessert that was so good! A bit sweet but so tasty! The bottom layer is brownie, then a thick layer of green, mint flavored, powdered sugar frosting and then a layer of chocolate over that! Oh my was it sweet! I found the recipe on the internet last week and knew I just had to make it today! Everyone loved it.

Well, today I needed something green for the postcard! I couldn't find anything "green" but I did find a photo with a peacock that had green in him! Another photo from the Efteling. The peacocks just wander about and don't seem too bothered by all the people! This one was busy grooming himself but stopped long enough to give me the evil eye for interrupting him for something as silly as a photo! Ah, the life of a photographer huh? lol

I am late, I know! I am absolutely addicted to the Hatchlings game on Facebook! I was up until 4am last night playing and then again today, all I did was play on Facebook! With all of the hunts and games, I spend way too much time on there! I am so sorry!

I will just get right to today's postcard! This is just one of the things at the Efteling. I just think this close up face is funny. I am not exactly sure what kind of a reason this would be sent to someone but I am sure, with time, I could think of one! lol Perhaps my faithful visitors can come up with a few good ones??? :o)

Sunday - March 15

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope it has been a good one for you!
We got some more sun here today and this evening, I was outside after dark and the sky was so clear you could see the stars! That doesn't happen very often where we live. It was so nice to just sit and look at them! :o)

Yesterday it did rain like the weatherman said it would but the sun never really came back out like he said! Well, it did show up just in time to go down, literally!

We ran out to the big garden yesterday to get the wheel barrow so a neighbor could borrow it. I was so happy to see the garden has been plowed finally!!! Yea!!! Now we just need some more good weather so it can be rototilled since it is just big chunks right now. I am really getting antsy now but with the garden plowed, it is much closer to being time to plant! :o)

The plants I started inside are growing great! I have 15 lettuce growing like crazy. I planted 3 different kinds; Buttercrunch, Iceberg and Lollo Bionda. I have several types of leaf lettuce seeds as well but those I will just seed directly in the garden.
I am experimenting a bit with some of the lettuce. I took 3 big containers, not huge ones but about 6" deep and probably the same across, and planted some Buttercrunch in them. So far, they are doing fabulous! I wonder if I will be able to grow them to adulthood (lol) in those containers. We will see! I am trying to grow as much as possible in containers here at the house to see how much I can actually get out of this small garden. Between the containers and the square foot gardening, if I can get enough veggies to put up for the winter then I may give up the big garden. I love the big garden but because it is elsewhere, it can be a pain to get there and hubby hates going to the garden! I have really been trying to work out what to plant in the spring and what to plant when the spring crops are done. I am a big fan and believer of companion planting so with a smaller area, I have to take those things into consideration as well.
I am also thinking about if I keep the big garden and use it for the potatoes, pumpkins, cucumbers, melons, corn, onions etc.; all the big crops, then I can use my back garden here for the smaller crops like carrots, beets, etc and of course, my tomatoes and peppers. Unless you have a greenhouse at the big garden (which I don't), it's almost impossible to grow tomatoes and peppers because it is so dry and windy out there. Like I said, we are out in the middle of farm land with nothing around us.
Anyway, so much to think about for the gardens and now it is almost time to start planting!!! :o)
I will try to take photos this year and keep you all updated as it grows!

Ok, enough about the weather and the gardens! Time for today's postcard! By now, you probably know I love birds! It doesn't matter what kind, I love them all! Well, today's postcard is of a bird, a seagull, that I caught on camera while at the Efteling last year. He posed so nicely for me and I got a gazillion photos of him and his feathered friends! This is just one of those photos.

March 14 - Cake anyone?

Happy Saturday!!!
It's another sunny day here although my daughter tells me she heard it was going to rain today but that the sun was supposed to come back out again after. I can live with that! Just keep that sun coming!

A friend and I were talking about the weather here in Holland. She is a transplant, like I am, but she comes from Canada. We were wondering how it is that more Dutch people don't have depression, especially in the winter months. Holland is so gray and dreary all winter long. There is no snow to reflect what little light you do have. We think they must put an anti-depressant right into the water in the winter. lol How else do you survive the long, gray days?
Seriously though, winters can be long here with all the gray days even if the temperature is mild for the most part.
Do you or someone you know suffer from winter depression?

Ok, well yesterday, I believe I said I would have cake for those of you who stop by to visit. Well, here it is! :o) Another photo from our weekend getaway last year. I just love the baked goods here in Holland. They are always so fancy and oh so good! It amazes me that Dutch people are so dang skinny (like reeds!) when they have so many wonderful, tasty baked goods to choose from. Eating a sweet at about 8pm is pretty normal here. Now mind you, they don't eat sweets like this every night! lol Coffee and a treat at 8pm though is normal. (Same thing at 10 or 10:30am. Break time for coffee and a snack)
The bakeries and stores are just loaded with goodies to tempt you and it is so hard to choose just one! If you ever come to Holland, be sure to try the baked goods. They are so worth the extra pound or two!

I thought today's postcard would be cute as an invite to a party or a cup of coffee and a chat. Are you hungry yet? :o) I am so I think I will go get some breakfast! Enjoy the postcard!

Friday the 13th!

Well, here it is, Friday, the 13th! I don't know about you but Friday the 13th has always been a rather lucky day for me rather than unlucky! Point in fact: today is sunny and warm! lol It's a beautiful day outside and I am wondering what I am doing here inside, on the computer! As soon as I post this, I am out of here! :o)

Wikipedia says that here in Holland, according to a study done in 2008, "fewer accidents and reports of fire and theft occur when the 13th of the month falls on a Friday than on other Fridays, because people are preventatively more careful or just stay home." It goes on to say that driving is safer on Friday the 13th, at least here in Holland. It's funny really, because I consider Holland to be a pretty safe place for driving! Granted, there are always traffic jams! I swear there are more cars than people sometimes! However, you just don't see the pile-ups on the roads like you do in the States. They do have them on occasion, don't get me wrong, but you just don't see a lot of accidents on the highways here. When my Dad was here last year he even commented on how considerate drivers were here.
I think not being allowed to even take driving lessons until you are 18 makes a big difference! They take private lessons and then go for their exam and I swear, no one passes on the first try! (I think this is a way to get more money though as opposed to doing things wrong! JMHO!)
I honestly feel kids of 16 are just too young for that much responsibility! They are talking about lowering the age for driving here and I pray they don't do it! In their quest to be just like the States, they don't take into consideration the bad that comes with all the good. I like Holland just like it is and if I wanted to live in a country just like the States, I would have stayed there to begin with! Now before you think I am down on the States, I'm not! I am proud to be an American! I just feel America has lost her way in so many things and it is nice to be in a country where I have some peace of mind. There is good and bad everywhere though.

So, is Friday the 13th a good or bad day for you? Sound off! (PS If this day is bad for you, be warned! We get another one in November!)

Today, since it is so beautiful outside, I decided on another flower postcard. I believe these are a Rudbeckia, are they not? We have some gardeners here so maybe they can tell me for sure!

One of my readers, Mary, creates puzzles out of the postcards. She does them on her computer but you could also print out the puzzle pieces, cut them out and send them to someone! :o) They get a postcard and a puzzle in one! Perhaps fashion a card, with the postcard on the front and the puzzle pieces inside so they can see what they will be putting together!

Does anyone else do anything with the postcards besides send them to others? Leave me a comment on how you use them! I would love to hear how the postcards are being used in other ways.

Well, it's another gray and wet day here in Holland! Well, not so wet at the moment but it did rain in the night again. Back to the starting line for the dry days before plowing! lol

I have been eyeing my backyard and trying to figure out what to do with it. We have a small backyard as most people do in Holland. I used to have a pond and waterfall in the garden but I couldn't keep the green slime out no matter how hard I tried so I dug up the pond. The waterfall is still sitting there and I am debating on whether or not to put in a small pond again under the waterfall. I also want to put in plants again. 2 years ago we bought a pool and it took up just about the whole yard. I gutted the gardens, added a bunch of sand for under the pool and then we got a freezing cold summer! The kids swam maybe 3 times all summer! Last summer we didn't bother putting it up again and before winter set in, hubby took the pool to the dump. Now I have a garden full of sand that needs to be dug up, new dirt added and then plants again but which ones! lol
I would like to create some of the square foot gardens back there since it is right outside the back door. If I can't make it to the big garden one day, at least I can putter around in my back garden. I also want flowers and bushes in the garden again though. It used to be so pretty back there and I want it to be that way again. It's just so hard to decide what to do with it! I stare out at the garden, seeing different things in it and then sketching it all for future reference. I want to do too many things in too small of a space though I think! lol Ah well, I have some time yet! I will just keep staring, sketching and dreaming, I guess!

Well, I guess that is all for today! I should probably get busy!

March 10 - garden

Well, so much for getting the garden plowed anytime soon! Today is gray and rainy! That means at least another week! It has to be dry for a week straight before they can plow! *sigh* Oh the joy of living in Holland! lol
Seriously, I lived in Washington State, out on Whidbey Island and I don't remember getting as much rain as we get here! Even my neighbor, who is from England, says they didn't get as much rain there as what we get here! Ah well, I do love how green Holland is with all of the beautiful flowers, trees, bushes, etc. I guess without the rain, we wouldn't have that, right?

Speaking of beautiful flowers, etc., today's postcard is a photo of a beautiful garden I spotted on one of our many trips. I just love the wrought iron table and chairs against the greens. I think it looks so pretty and thought it would make a pretty postcard. I hope you do, too! Here is what today's postcard looks like:

Well, it is raining so no outside work today. I already have my house cleaned, mopped, dusted, etc. so the rest of the day is mine and it is only 11:30! I am stuck at home though as I am waiting for the repairman to come and fix our dishwasher, yet again! This is like the 6th call now. I sure wish they had the lemon law here because this dishwasher is definitely a sour one! I wish I could afford to buy a new one but like everyone else, money is tight and to be honest, this dishwasher is only 2 years old! Oh well, they come and fix it, over and over and it is still under warranty, thank goodness!

I have a couple of kits I have been playing with for quite some time. Maybe I will work on them for a bit. I really should actually get them done and in the store! I know I said I was retiring but I found I was just in a serious funk with designing. I just needed a break, I guess. Maybe one of these days, I will actually finish these kits!

Well, I guess I am off to see what I can do!

March 9 - More Ijsbloemen

Hello everyone!
Thank you so much for the wonderful comments and the welcome back! :o) It is so nice to see you all again!

I have another photo of the Ijsbloemen for you today. In this postcard, you see a bit more of the waxy leaves.
MaryE, you had said they are like Gerberas and while they look a bit like them, they are definitely not Gerberas! These flowers grow very low to the ground and are about 2", maybe 3" across. The roots are quite shallow and can be a pain transplanting them because of it. The leaves are thick and waxy and almost look like they have beads of water or ice crystals on them all the time. The colors of the flowers are very vibrant and the flowers only open when it is sunny and close up when the sun is gone. They last pretty much all summer long.

I spent the day cleaning or planting! Nothing very exciting!
I have quite a few seeds started in the house for my gardens. As some of you know, I have a garden in a town not too far from where I live. 300 sq. meters of pure dirt. lol I have a small shed on the land, a couple of water barrels and nothing else! We are out in the middle of farm land, no running water or power. I use a generator and pump in the canal for my water and if I need power, for a tool usually, then the generator is used.
I start a lot of my seeds inside every year. So far I have 3 different kinds of lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower, beets, basil, parsley, marjoram, oregano and some flowers (Shasta Daisy and Marigolds) started. Everything has already popped up and is growing good! Too good, I am afraid! My field hasn't been plowed yet because we can't seem to get any decent, dry weather! It didn't get plowed in the fall either since it got so cold here so early. Usually the fields are plowed in Nov/Dec but it froze by then so it never got done! Now we are having to wait because it keeps raining day after day. I am getting quite antsy to get my plants and seeds in the ground! Just another week and it's St. Patty's Day and the peas should be going in! I am keeping my fingers crossed the plowing gets done by then! I have so many more seeds that need to get planted soon but my windowsill is full!

I am going to try a bit of square foot gardening this year. Normally, I plant in rows as most do in fields. I am intrigued though by the ease of the square foot method and the amount of food in such a small amount of space. I am not sure if I am going to actually raise the gardens though and create individual beds that are up about 4".
I bought some weed cloth and am thinking about just laying it on the ground and then planting flat like that within the foot squares. We will see! I design my gardens every year and always end up with something different than what I planned! lol

Hello everyone! I bet you thought I forgot all about you, didn't you? Well, I did and didn't! :o)
I was looking at new places to store the files and then was watching to see what others thought of them. I was going to go with box.net but then I read some comments about downloads being slow or cutting out before they were finished. I decided I didn't like that at all! I have been watching the comments about Mediafire and they all seem positive so far so I have loaded a batch of postcards to Mediafire and we will see how it goes!

I have 2 downloads for you. The first is the batch of postcards from February. Out of the 5, there is a church photo, 2 religious statues, 1 mixed postcard of various views from Trier, Germany and one last postcard of a donkey! :o) To save time and space, I won't be loading the previews for these. You will just have to take your chances and delete them if you don't like them, ok?

We have Fuschia, Impatiens, a Lily, a Passion flower, some spring flowers of which I just can't think of their names right now for the life of me and a flower with a ladybug up close and personal! I am not sure what these are called in English as I had never seen these flowers until I moved to Holland. Here, we call them ijsbloemen. (ice blue min). These little sweeties are one of my favorites! Every year I look forward to them finally coming out for sale! They are so sweet and so beautiful! The thing is, they only bloom when it's sunny but man oh man, are they gorgeous when they do! If you find these by you, grab some, plant them in a sunny location and watch them all summer long! They are so worth the time, money and effort! I hope you like them!

I did some checking and it seems like there is a lot of that going around so I am not going to use 4shared for the downloads at this time. I am looking for a place to upload files so you can get them. I have been busy today with several other things though so I haven't found one I like yet. I will keep searching and when I find one, will post the cards again for you to dowload as well as any days I may miss. Just a quick post today. I have another postcard from Auschwitz.
I, personally, don't know what the building is since my daughter took the photo. Look at all of that barbed wire though! How horrible it must have been for those that were here.
At the back of the photo, on the left, it looks like a guard tower. I have seen a lot of these in other photos DD took here.
The building looks to be in remarkable condition. I wonder if it has been renovated?

Here in Holland, in Amsterdam, we have the Anne Frank house. I went through it one day. It was so hard to picture her family living there and what it must have been like for them all. I imagine it had to be thousands of times better than Auschwitz though.

Feb 22 - Auschwitz

I thought I would start out with this photo since it is so stark. It gives me a great feeling of sadness to see this. I probably won't be loading many postcards from Auschwitz as there are students in a lot of the photos but I will try and get as many in as I can to give you an idea of how it looks. I think it is just one of those places you have to go to rather than just see the photos.

So hubby and I had a nice day/night yesterday. We shopped all day practically. Groceries, garden supplies, stuff to put up shelves in the house, fencing and posts for the back yard, and more. It was a busy day!
We did get to KFC for dinner which was "echt lekker"! lol That means really tasty! :o)
After dinner we came home and he got my shelves up over my desk. I now have a nice little area to work in finally! Yea!!!

Today, hubby and the neighbor got a couple of the fence pieces up before it started raining. They will finish later this week. Oh I will be so happy to have the new fencing up! I swear, everyone has fencing between their houses here in Holland. We used to but we had a really bad wind storm this winter and it just ripped our fencing right up! Since it got so cold this winter, there hasn't been much of a chance to replace it since it was torn apart!
Since we all live so close here, it has been quite strange not having that border between us and the neighbors! I feel better just having the few up that they did manage to get up so far!

Tonight, the in-laws brought dd home as she was at their house this weekend. They stayed for awhile, which is always nice. I am so lucky in the in-law department! I couldn't ask for better in-laws!
After they left, hubby and I watched a bit of tv and then I attended an online baby shower for our dear sweet Stacey, at Digitals.

I am now posting today's postcard and then I am off to finish watching tonight's "Ghost Whisperer" with hubby. I just can't believe they killed Jim off! How could they do that??? (I know, you are probably thinking, Jim killed off? That was like forever ago! It probably was for those of you in the States! lol Don't tell me what happens! ) :o)

February 21 - Poland

Hello again! :o) Happy Saturday! I hope you all have wonderful plans for the weekend, OFF the computer!

The kids will both be gone for the night which is a rare treat! Hubby and I are going out to eat and then will just spend some quiet time alone! How nice that will be! Don't get me wrong! I love my kids, love having them around, but every once in awhile, having a night and day just us is pretty nice! :o)
Sherry, I hate to disappoint you again but we are just going out for fast food; either Burger King or KFC! Yes, we have those as well as Subway, Dominoes Pizza and probably others I don't know about! Personally, I am glad to have a bit of "home" here in Holland even if it doesn't taste quite the same!

Today's postcard is actually not a photo I took! This one my daughter took when she was in Poland this past year as an exchange student. She tends to take photos like I do but she has a real eye for it, I think! This photo is one from up in the mountains, somewhere in Krakow. I think she did a beautiful job centering it all, don't you? I added the "Poland" to the postcard and put my daughter's name on there this time. Here is today's postcard:

How do you all feel about postcards created from photos from Auschwitz? She took some photos there, but just outside, as you are not allowed to photograph in the buildings. She did get a few really good photos but I hesitated to use them. I mean Aushwitz, while a big part of history, may not be something you would like a postcard of, you know? Sound off in the comment area and let me know if you are interested. If so, I will create some postcards from those photos. None of them are....um, hard to look at. They are just of buildings, fencing, train tracks, stuff like that. She has some photos that I just can't make postcards out of as even I don't think I would be comfortable doing so!

February 20 - Indian reservation?

I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date.....
Did you think I forgot you today? I didn't! Just running behind as usual, of late!

Coming home from a weekend getaway last summer, we stopped at a McDonald's for a much needed coffee. Pulling into the lot was like pulling into the Old West. All around the lot and the outdoor sitting areas, there were Indians, teepees, and totem poles. The area was quite wooded so the Indian stuff, all wood, was pretty cool! The inside of the McDonald's was all done up in an Indian/Old West theme as well. It was a great place to stop and rest for a bit.

Today's postcard is an Indian carved out of wood and tucked into some bushes. Cool, huh?

February 19 - coffee beans

You are probably asking yourself what coffee beans have to do with postcards, huh?
Today's postcard is one side of a little statue I found outside of a coffeeshop in Dordrecht last year. Just something a bit different and a little fun! I thought it was so cute!
The whole thing is actually 3 coffee bean sacks and another coffee bean statue on the other side. That one is a bit different than this one but the photo didn't come out as well as this side. I think it makes a cute postcard though, don't you? (Remember, the preview is smaller and lower quality than the actual postcard!)

It was a busy day for me. I had a dr's appointment this morning and then new glasses this afternoon plus had to get some shopping done in between. Then more grocery shopping before dinner, then a movie with my daughter tonight. It was a good day though and the sun was shining which definitely made it even better! How was your day? Today's postcard is a bit different! There is a whole water/sealife area in the zoo. This is a photo I took of one of the water displays. They look like sea anemones but I am not certain if that's what they are! I believe they are though.
If you look closely at the photo, especially the full size one in the zip file, you can see all the little babies on the bottom. Aren't they just the sweetest?

Ok, I know I am a day late! Or two.... Sorry about that! Things just got so busy and my DD has been using my computer while hers is out so time on here has been limited lately. I do have 2 postcards for you though! I won't miss any of them, even if they are a day late! :o)

Today's postcards are both from the zoo. One is a gorgeous flower and the other is a gorgeous bird. The bird almost looks like a picture but I swear, it's a photo I took! lol I have another bird photo like this that looks like a painting yet it was a photo I took. Why they turned out like that I don't know! Maybe Sherry can tell us what kind of a bird it is? (hint hint! lol) Ok, I could be less lazy and look it up myself but by the time I do, DD will be on here for her homework again and then I will forget to post what it is and then a month from now, if you're lucky, I will remember to post what it is! So...Sherry??? :o)

Just a quick post and then I am off again! Today's postcard is a photo I took when my MIL and I went to the zoo in Rotterdam. It looks like a young pink flamingo but I am not entirely sure what it is! Does anyone out there know??
I DO know the cage was filled with these birds and the bright color against the greens was beautiful. I fell in love with them! This little guy was kind enough to pose for me. Isn't he sweet?

My son went back to work today and hubby is feeling better than yesterday but will still be taking tomorrow off as he is not 100% better yet. I don't mind too much! It doesn't suck having him around anyway! :o)

Feb 12 - Just another brick in the wall

Well, ok, not really a brick but a stone. Or rock. Whichever! :o) Just sounded better with "brick" though! You all know the song, right?

This will be a quick post. I have 2 sickies on my hands; my son and my hubby. Dear son has been home sick for 3 days now and tonight, hubby came home from work, sick. I sure hope the boys keep it to themselves and don't pass it on to my daughter and I!
I am worried about hubby though. This is the 3rd time in as many weeks that he has been sick. His resistance must be really low this year. He definitely needs to see a dr I think.

Today's postcard is from France. We stayed in a hotel one night while traveling and this wall was out front. I thought it was so pretty so naturally, I had to snap a photo! Just something a bit different than all the travel photos. :o)

Sherry, in answer to your question about the books.....I am not sure what the cost would be. You would have to check with your local post office. There is a "book/magazine" bag that can be sent at a lower rate than normal packages. As long as it is only books and/or magazines, it is cheaper. (It was like $6 for the full bag)
At least they used to have it! I don't know if they have changed that or not.
You are so sweet to ask! I definitely would never argue with English books of any kind, from anywhere or anyone! lol

Feb 11 - Monaco

Just a quick post today. Today is a view of Monaco, another country (principality) we were in last summer. Monaco is such a beautiful place. Everything is so crisp and clean looking. If you look closely at the photo, on the left you can see a sign hanging with a picture of Grace Kelly. They had something going on at the time about her and those signs were hanging all over the streets.
You see houses built on cliffs, yachts that looked as big as cruise ships and crystal clear blue water. I have never seen water so blue and when you are up in the hills, when you look down, the water is so clear you can see the bottom. I wish I could say I had more good photos but most of what I have either have people in them, are blurry from driving and shooting or have street lights or construction in them. I will look through the photos again and see if I can salvage any more for postcards or maybe try and make a collage postcard with what I can clip out of the photos.
If you ever get the chance to see Monaco, by all means, do, especially if you can drive there. The sight is well worth it!

Feb 10 - Salvadore Dali - Spain

I broke from the garden photos today. I am running behind and needed something quick! :o)

While on the vacation that took us to Italy, we also were in several other countries, with Spain being one of them. We drove into Spain and found this city, Figueres. We decided to roam around a bit and see what might be there. As luck would have it, the Salvadore Dali museum is there! On this first trip into Spain we didn't go into the museum but several days later, hubby and I went back, specifically for the museum. It definitely wasn't as good as I expected. Oh, his famous paintings are there naturally and it is definitely a funky museum, befitting Dali, for sure! I guess I just expected more from it is all. Too bad I was using my older camera at the time. A lot of the photos from inside the museum just didn't turn out.

Today's postcard is part of one wall in one of the rooms in the museum. Believe me, this photo doesn't do this one justice at all. This painting is just massive!

Villa Torrigiani - Feb 9

Thank goodness, the weekend is over! lol It wasn't a bad weekend at all, just a bit busy. Everything worked out perfectly though and my daughter had a wonderful slumber party. I think her favorite part was breakfast, Sunday morning. I made homemade waffles plus chocolate fondue with lots of fresh fruit! She just loves that! Oh, and don't forget the whipped cream! lol She takes cut up strawberries, whipped cream and drizzled chocolate and puts it on her waffle. It was funny because at first her friends weren't going to do it until they saw hers, then they ALL did it! It was too funny. No, I did not get any photos. *sigh* Just unheard of for me. I was relegated to the upstairs along with hubby and son. I was allowed to come down to make snacks at 10pm, before they started their movies and then of course, in the morning, to make breakfast. No photos were allowed during their "Sing Star" performances.
I have to admit, I would have loved to have taken photos of their faces in the morning as they were waking up! It was too cute! Ah well.....grab the photos while you can because as they get older, they sure do start objecting to photos!

On to the postcard! Today's postcard is a photo I shot of the house? mansion? villa? whatever you want to call it, that is on the grounds of the gardens. Or would the gardens be on the grounds of the house? Hmmm.
You would not believe the number of statues ON this house! They have them on every surface available! It doesn't look so bad in photos but in person, I found it almost vulgar, there were so many. Remember, what you are seeing here is only the front of the house! The statues go all the way around! lol
Oh, and for Deb Pearson.....this is Villa Torrigiani in Florence.

I have read that this garden was a secret garden and there used to be a wall at the top of the stairs. This wall had openings that lead to the pool or, if coming from the pool, down to the secret garden! :o)
I have some photos of the pool area but they are not very good at all. It was too late in the day to get any decent photos.

I found a wall poster online today that is almost the exact picture as today's postcard! The poster had some better lighting and the top of the house with all the statues there didn't fade away like they do in my photo. It was cool though to find a poster with an almost identical view of my photo. Here it is:

Well, I should get to work! I started working on a Valentine kit on Fri and would you believe, I have it almost finished? Saturday and Sunday I got no time to work on it at all! It was all done on Fri! Maybe I am starting to get my mojo back? That would be nice!

Feb 7 - The Stairs

You know how I keep talking about the stairs in this garden? Well, today you get to see them! Mind you, there is a tiny bit cut off from each side as they are just massive! I had to stand so far back in order to get them into one photo!
You see the door on each side? You can go in either one of these doors and walk through, under the stairs. It's lit up and so very cool, literally in every way but there were also bats! Since it was cooler in there than outside, I would have stayed in there for awhile but I really HATE bats! lol I tried to get a photo of one but it didn't turn out so well! No big loss really!
I have some more photos of the stairs from different angles but you only get part of the stairs each time. This is really the best photo of the whole staircase.
You couldn't walk on the stairs at the time we were there. They had them roped off as they were in serious need of repair.
Yes, those are more statues on the top of the stairs. I swear these people were just crazy for statues! Wait until you see all the statues on the mansion! That's another photo though!

I will be out most of the day today, tonight my daughter is having her slumber party from her birthday last month and Sunday, my in-laws are coming over for the kids' birthdays! This beautiful statue was in a small water filled alcove below the stairs in the garden I have been showing you. I just love how the stones look. So different than normal! If you look closely on the postcard, you can see some green growing in those rocks on the wall as well. Just so beautiful! And these postcards I have been making you of this garden are just small bits and not even the beautiful stairway yet! I am saving that! :o)

Becky - I hope your daughter is enjoying the postcards and that maybe she will venture to see some of these things while she is in Europe! When is she going and for how long?

Sibylle - I would have gladly gone out for photos but the snow doesn't stay long enough here! Only a few times, like 3, I think, in the almost 9 years that I have been here, have we gotten enough snow to get out and get photos! Even if we get a few inches in the morning, it starts melting almost right away! I do have some photos from some of our snows though and will try and post some of them for you at a later date, ok?
PS As for making more postcards, I hope to post a new postcard every day of 2009! Not sure I will make it but I am sure going to try so load up that Mac!!

Sherry - Yes, we get movies and tv in English. :o) This is one reason why the Dutch can speak English so well! They hear it pretty much starting at birth plus they take English in school.

I have so many photos of this garden I have to share several of them with you. This garden was just so pretty! A lady I met here said this one isn't even as pretty as another she saw earlier in the day! I couldn't believe it! I wish I had had more time to see the other one! I was happy to walk around this one though.

I actually found this garden from a photo in a travel book. They had a photo of the stairs, (which I will post another day), and I fell in love! I told hubby I just HAD to see that garden! It took us about 2 hours to get there from where we were staying but it was well worth the drive. :o)

We actually had snow yesterday! We have had more snow this winter than the last 8 years combined! Now mind you, that's not saying a lot because we don't get much snow at all here but this year, it just keeps snowing and snowing!
It snowed off and on all day. One of those thick flakes, slow falling, snow falls. I had to keep stopping whatever I was doing, sit down and just stare out the window and watch it snow!
Now of course, all this snow is not getting me into my garden anytime soon and I am itching to get started but I am enjoying the snowfalls while we have them!

Today's postcard is a wall in this beautiful garden we visited while in Italy. I just loved how old and rustic it looked and then with the beautiful flowers, it just seemed perfect to me. It never ceases to amaze me how old everything is here in Europe. Everything is so "young" in America, even the "old" states. Here, it's nothing to see dates on buildings showing 1500, 1600, etc. I never get tired of seeing the history in all of these buildings.

Today's postcard is a beautiful little area between buildings I found while walking toward the river to get a photo of the Ponte Vecchio. It was just there and personally, I found it quite beautiful in it's simplicity. I loved the colors, too!

Feb 2 - Ponte Vecchio

It is a yukky day here. The sky is gray, we had snow, then hail and now rain and it is not even 2pm! Going through the photos from warm Italy helps take away the cold.
The day we were in Florence, here where the bridge is, it was 44C which is about 110F. It was a VERY hot day! Actually, the whole time we were in Italy, it was hot, hot, hot! Tip: Don't go to Italy in July or August unless you like extreme heat! :o)

Anyway......today's postcard is the famous (or is it infamous?) Ponte Vecchio bridge. The bridge is over the Arno River and has a lot of jewelry shops as well as other shops on it.
It has a lot of history attached to it which is interesting. Supposedly, the Ponte Vecchio was saved by Hitler. When the Germans retreated during WW2, Hitler ordered that the bridge not be destroyed. They did destroy the buildings on both ends so no one could access the bridge but the bridge itself, was saved.
Personally, I thought the bridge was ok; nothing spectacular, but my husband loved it. He even bought a replica of the bridge that he keeps on his desk!

Well, January is gone and it is February 1. Can you believe it? I swear it was just last night we were celebrating New Year's Eve!! *sigh* (I hit the wrong button so this post is going out a bit early! lol)

Our postcard trip has us lingering in Italy; Florence, to be precise! What would a trip to Italy be without seeing Michelangelo's David? Well, again, this is not the original as the original is in the museum which is actually just a little to the right of this statue. This is the David that is in the square, along with several other gorgeous statues.
Coming into this square made me squeal with joy! We had no idea we were so close. You come out of the little streets which feel like alleys, all crowded and small and suddenly, this square opens up in front of you. The museum is there, statues all over, stores, restaurants and outdoor seating. It is beautiful really and especially when you aren't expecting it! This square is just a little before the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge.

I have done a little "cover up" on the preview since this is a family page! :o) I realize this is art and not something "nasty" but just in case the powers that be see it otherwise.....
I assure you, the actual "postcard" does not have that beautiful fall leaf strategically placed! lol

I hope you are enjoying your photo tour through Europe! I wish my older photos were larger. I have so many photos that make beautiful postcards but not 4x6! I think I said in an earlier post I might try making a collage postcard with some of the photos. Maybe if I get some time to sit down and do that one of these days, I will!

I have watched several movies over the last few days. They have been pretty good for the most part.
1. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - different, somewhat interesting and a bit slow and long
2. Slumdog Millionaire - at first, I thought I was watching the wrong movie. I expected something else but I found it ok and watched it to the end. I LOVED the music in it!
3. The Lake House - definitely good! A little confusing sometimes but good just the same!
4. The Wedding Planner - How can anything with Matthew McConaughey be anything but good??? lol
5. Yes Man - This wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Normally, you can't go wrong with a Jim Carrey movie but I just didn't find this as funny as I thought it would be.
A few others as well but I just can't think of the titles right now. Have any of you seen any of these movies and what did you think of them?

This is a postcard looking out over Florence. Up here, there is a statue of David but it is just a replica. They had a lot of construction going on at the time so I don't have any good photos of the fake David. I thought this view of Florence was beautiful though! :o)

Before we get to today's postcard, someone told me that unless you are a member of 4shared, you can't download the postcards? Is there anyone else not able to download them? I thought 4shared was available to everyone so this is why I have been using it! If there are indeed problems for people, I will find another place for the files in addition to 4shared so everyone that wants them can get them! When you see postcards of Pisa, you think it is just the tower but the square it is in has several beautiful buildings as well as shops, restaurants and more. This is one of those buildings you see in the square. You also get a better idea of the lean of the tower when seeing it against this building!

I thought we would head to Italy for a bit! Today's postcard is from Pisa. It is very different in person. It's in the middle of a square and feels a bit unreal. It was definitely NOT what I expected! lol I thought it was pretty impressive but hubby and the kids didn't think much of it at all. I hope you enjoy the postcards anyway!

Hello again!
Today, I have another view of Notre Dame. This is on the Seine side. You always see the front but how often do you get to see the back or sides of Notre Dame? Other than the sculptures on the front, I personally find the back and sides so much more interesting! The look is so gothic, I think. I really think it is such a beautiful building.
Why is it that buildings built so long ago seem to hold up so much better than buildings built today?

Aleah'sMom - Those vampire books sound cool! We recently got the show Moonlight, about vampires and we love it! The States probably had it 2 years ago! lol If your books are anything like the show, I bet they are great reading!

Sherry - I used to download books to listen to but I just don't enjoy them as much that way. When I read, I tend to get lost in the story and usually have to be physically shaken to get my attention when I am reading! lol When I listen to books, I can't get into them like that and I have a hard time following them.
I'm so glad to hear you can enjoy books in this way though since your CFS started. I can't imagine not being able to read, one way or another!

Today I just took it easy! Catching up on laundry and watching shows we recorded but just haven't had time to watch! I think I still need another lazy day though. Thank goodness I don't have to go anywhere tomorrow!

Question for today: Do you buy new books or used?
My preference: used because they are so much cheaper! It's the same book as a new one, you read it once (maybe twice) and then it sits on a shelf or goes to a used book store, garage sale, etc. I would rather have 5 used books than 1 new one! How about you? What is your preference?

Today's postcard is just one of the many views you see carved into Notre Dame. It is just amazing how gorgeous it is. It is really something you just have to see in person! Each of the scenes is something else from the Bible. I believe these are apostles but I could be wrong! If anyone knows for sure, please let me know!

The weekend is over, the kids are both a year older and one of them is now an adult! *groan*
The soccer game was so cold (it was at night) and they played so badly! Not that they have been playing very good this season but we can hope each game will be the one to change it all, right? Well, Saturday's game wasn't the one!

I am absolutely exhausted. Other than doing laundry I don't think I will be doing too much else today! Just take it easy, maybe read another book.

I started a list on the right side of my blog of the books I have read. I am so bad about keeping track each year so I thought this year I would make a list here on my blog and at year's end, I could see how much and what I read!
Personally, my tastes are varied. Since moving to Holland, I am not too picky! If someone finds a book in English, I read it! It's not always so easy to find them in English but we have been managing! My MIL finds quite a few for me each year and I just devour them! We have found several used book stores where I can usually find some and we hit all the flea markets we see, searching for English books. They don't come cheap though! Needless to say, I can't always find my "romance" novels I love so much so I read whatever I can find or get from someone. I have to admit, I have found some great authors and read some fabulous books because of this so I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing! :o)

Hi all! I'm sorry I am so late! With the kids' birthdays, a soccer game and company this weekend, I just haven't had any time to log on and post the card until now! I'm sorry!

Sherry, you are too funny!!! Hmmm, what else is there to do in Florida in April? :o) It's that perfect time after the chilly winter and just before it starts getting hot again! It's spring and everyone/everything is "twitterpated", are they not? lol

Today's postcard is a view of Notre Dame (the front) and the Seine. Again, it is so hard to get photos up close without people so I don't have too many I can use. I figure if you can plainly see someone's face, then it's not for me to post on the internet. I will post what I can though!

Just a quick post as it's my baby's 16th birthday today! She is literally, the baby. Where did the years go???
Saturday, my son and only boy, turns 18! It's so hard to believe they have grown up so fast!
My other two girls are 25 and 31 and my grandson is already 3! I am not sure if I am feeling old these days or starting to feel that "empty nest" syndrome!

Today I have a photo of the Eiffel Tower most people don't get! Don't worry, I do have them normal as well! :o) This is from the other side of the street in this wonderful little park. I just love this "not so typical" shot of the tower. I hope you enjoy it as well!

Hey, I am actually posting on time today! :o)

This cold is really dragging me down so I just sat on the computer today and looked at sites for square foot gardening. I have a 300 sq meter garden and last year, due to being sick, I ended up with a lot of weeds. Sometimes, 300 sq m just feels like too much for one person by hand so I am looking to make it more manageable yet still get a good yield out of it. Does anyone else do square foot gardening? If so, I would love to hear from you!

Last year was my first time trying a potato patch in the garden. I just had 3 small rows with a total of 30 eye potatoes I bought from the garden shop. I was so impressed with how well they did I am definitely going to have a bigger potato area this year! I am also planning on trying to grow potatoes in a water barrel, a small round barrel I had near the old pond, and also a spot or two in the square foot garden to see how well that works as well. Some things I read say you can get a big yield and others say not as good as you read about. I can only try it and see what works for me, right?
I am definitely going to be planting Nicola again. Last year, with just 30 plants, I had enough to last through Oct plus give a bunch to the in-laws and some friends as well!
I am not sure what they would be called in America. They are kind of like a Russet but smaller and not as hard. They cook much quicker than a Russet potato.
I am hoping to get hold of some red potatoes as well. I just love them small and fresh out of the ground!

Anyway, just sitting here all day, surfing and reading, felt good for a change. It's been a long time since I have done that. One of the perks of giving up designing for awhile, I guess! :o)

Ok, on to today's postcard. I doubt I have to tell you all this is the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, France. This is one of my favorite photos of it, with the trees framing it. Impossible to get a photo without people or cars though. I have been to Paris 3 times now and never have I seen the city not filled with both! I did manage to catch it without too much of either one this time but they are still there nonetheless.
When you download the actual size postcard, be sure to look on the roof of the Arc! You can see people up there waving! You can go to the top but it isn't cheap!

I have a ton of photos from Paris so I will start making postcards from there. Give you a virtual tour of Paris for those of you that have never been there. Hmmm, maybe not a virtual tour! We were only there for one night this last time when my Dad came last year so I have the high spots anyway! :o)

I am running behind again, I know! Sorry about that!

I am running out of large photos of Holland. As I was going through my stash, which is quite large, I realized most of the photos I have were taken with an older camera and also at much smaller sizes. When I tried to enlarge them to fit the 4x6 area, they didn't look nice at all anymore. I think I will try my hand at some collage-like postcards with the smaller photos. I was also thinking, instead of just photos from Holland, how about just postcards of anything? I mean I have been to Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, and so many more! I have pictures from most of the places. I don't think I have ever taken pictures in Belgium or Luxembourg though. How weird is that? Hmmm, maybe because you just pass through them and don't really GO to them?

Anyway, I think I will make postcards from more than just Holland. Sound good?
This summer we are heading to Denmark and a bit of Sweden so I will have photos from both of those countries to add as well.

Today's postcard is from the inside of Ruine Ravenstyne; a postcard I did a week or so ago.
Yes, Sherry, you can go inside, go upstairs, everything. Only one wing was closed off; that part you see on the left side of the photo.

Whenever I am in places like this, I try and imagine how it must have looked back in it's day. I mean, the ruin itself was gorgeous. I can only imagine what it looked like before. Then again, maybe my imagination makes it look better than it actually was.
Do you do the same? Try and imagine what things like this looked like in an earlier time?

Day 12

Well, today we got to walk on the ice at Kinderdijk! :o) This is the area where there are a bunch of windmills all in one small area. The ice has frozen enough so you can skate on it now! How long it will last is anyone's guess!

Supposedly, Saturday (2 days ago) and today, they are holding the "molentocht" (literally translated - windmill race). I am not sure how long it is. Hubby told me but I forgot! The skaters race around the area as well as further on. These races are going on all over Holland as the ice is frozen everywhere! I guess it has been quite a number of years since this happened. I believe hubby said the last time they had the molentocht was 12 years ago! You can see why they all go crazy when this happens! Plus, you just never know how long the cold will stay and the ice will hold up.

Anyway, I took a lot of photos although I have to admit, not as many as I normally do! I did use a few to make some postcards though so you all can share in a bit of history here in Holland! Today I have one of those postcards for you. The preview is much smaller than the actual postcard!

Day 11

Well, not much got done today! Hubby wasn't feeling the greatest so all that got done today was a bit of grocery shopping. It was cold out again today so not a bad day to stay in I guess!

My dad called today. He lives in Illinois and said they were getting dumped on again. He said they got like 10" of snow and were expecting another 4" or more before it was supposed to stop. I sure do miss those kind of snowfalls! If we get like 2" here, that is a lot!
Is it snowing by you? How much snow have you gotten so far this year? (Sherry, you can just tell me about the warmth and sun in beautiful Florida!)

I have another postcard for you today. This one was taken in Giethoorn. It is such a beautiful place. No cars as everyone lives on the water and you travel by boat everywhere. It's just a tiny little town with big impact! It was definitely beautiful and definitely somewhere I would like to go back to one day.

Day 10!

Well, the weather has been COLD here and the ice has been steadily freezing! There have been several ice races already but everyone is still waiting and hoping for the big "Elfstedetocht". (11 city race) If this weather keeps up much longer, we will surely have it! Most of the canals have frozen over and the kids are on them day and night! This country is definitely crazy about ice skating! :o)
We were going to go to Kinderdijk tomorrow to see the skaters on the canal there with all the windmills but hubby is sick so I highly doubt we will go. I think he has that nasty flu that is going around. It lasts about 3 weeks by the time all the sneezing and coughing and everything is gone! *ugh*

Today's postcard is of a sunset I caught one day while in Rotterdam. It was so pretty the way it changed. I must have taken about 100 photos of the sunset that day.
I thought this would look nice with a scripture on it or something uplifting. Perhaps a postcard for someone who needs a little hope, someone who has gone through a tragedy, someone who is depressed.....

I scrapped a Layout!!!

I actually scrapped something today!
When I woke up this morning, everything was white outside. Now mind you, it wasn't snow but that thick, white frost all over everything! It was so beautiful! This is just one of the many photos I took while walking around for about 3 hours, just enjoying the view and the cold, fresh air!

While on my walk, I came across a beautiful swan on the ice. There have been a lot of problems lately with the birds getting frozen in the ice and it looked like she was. I went home, grabbed some bread and headed to the neighbors to see if he could call someone to help get her out. (My Dutch isn't good enough to explain where she was! lol) He called several places and they were all so unconcerned about it. The one (the animal control) actually told him unless the swan was hurt or dead, they wouldn't do anything! Can you believe that? And this after reading in the paper the other day that if you see birds frozen in the ice, call! Unbelievable!
I headed back with the bread and fed her. She started to move about after the bread and I could see she wasn't frozen in the ice after all but she was very weak. You could tell it wasn't the slippery ice that caused her to keep falling. She could barely stand up, period. I did manage to get a few shots of her while she was up on her feet but it never lasted long before she just dropped again.
I gave her half a loaf of bread and she just devoured it! I hope it helped anyway and I hope other people give her bread, too! I will go back tomorrow, with more bread, to see if she is still there. Here is a layout I did of her.

Actually, you get two today because I couldn't decide which I liked better! lol These should definitely cheer someone up, huh? Now mind you, these aren't the real thing but there will be some postcards at some point with the real ones!

I don't know about your weather but here it is COLD!!!! Unusually cold for us! Every one in Holland keeps hoping for more so the ice will freeze and they can run their 11 city ice skating race. Even though I hate the cold, I am hoping it stays cold long enough for the race! Hubby promised to take the day off so we could go watch it if it happens. It will make for some great photos! :o)

Thinking about the cold, I actually scrapped a page tonight!!! :o)
This was a photo I took of a snowfall a year or so ago. We don't get much snow here in our part of Holland so every time we do, I am out snapping photos!
I used "Winter Escape" by Paint The Moon Designs (Annie Manning) and "Winter Flight" by Createwings Designs (Dawn Vander Stoep). Both kits can be found at Oscraps.

I have another postcard for you! This one is of a castle ruin (Ruine Ravenstyne) not far from where we live. The castle and the whole area around are just beautiful!

Day 6 - no new layouts. I spent the day taking down the Christmas tree and all of the decorations. It took me literally, the whole day to get it done! I finished up just in time to make dinner. *sigh*
I really need to get on the ball with these layouts! I will never get 365 done at this rate!

I have another new postcard for those few of you downloading! Is anyone actually sending them to anyone or are you just downloading them for yourself? Just curious!

Today's postcard is a bit of Spring. I figured it is probably cold and/or snowy for a lot of you so maybe the colors will perk things up a bit! This photo was taken at the Keukenhof; a beautiful park here in Holland that is only open for a few months every year. Their floral display is fabulous! You will probably see more postcards from the Keukenhof! :o)

No new layouts created today. I guess sometimes living just gets in the way of scrapping about living. Is that really such a bad thing though?

Today's postcard is kind of artsy-fartsy. There was a living statue event this past summer in Den Haag, I believe it was. They didn't have as many statues as I thought they would but the ones they did have were fabulous! This photo is part of a "living tree". Notice the dragonfly to the left of the face? I just like the way this part of the tree looks and personally, I think it makes a cool postcard. Different form your normal ones anyway! If you think this postcard is strange, you should definitely check out the Dali museum in Spain! Very cool but also very strange! Maybe I will make some postcards from there!

Someone said a tutorial for the back might be nice. I actually just figured you could print these out on thick paper. If you are sending them as postcards, you would write your message on the left and add the address and stamp on the right.
The only difference between these and a real postcard is the line in the middle dividing right and left and usually, the name of whatever is in the picture is listed somewhere on the back as well.
If you are just giving them to someone, then you could just use the whole back to write a note.

I will look into it though and see if I can find anything on how to add a postcard type back for printing. Thank you anonymous for the suggestion!

Today's postcard is another "cutesy" one. This is another one from a ride at the Efteling. If you have ever gone to Disney World or Disneyland, you have probably gone on the ride where the music is constantly "It's A Small World". This ride is essentially the same thing but the music is at least different throughout! lol

I didn't scrap anything today.(Today being Saturday as I am setting this up ahead of time!) We got busy and time just got away from me. Hopefully I can get both today's and tomorrow's pages done tomorrow.

365 Postcards - Day 3

Hello everyone!
Not too many takers yet on the postcards! Does that mean no one wants to actually write or does no one like the postcards?
I will keep going for those who are downloading them anyway!
Day 3 is a photo I took at the Efteling; an amusement park here in Holland. The photo is from my favorite ride there, the Droomvlucht (literally translated: Dream Flight). It's a magical ride and this postcard gives you an idea of what you see while on it! I hope you like it!

365 Days of scrap - Day 2

A little late in the day but I finally got it done! I realized as I did this one that I am not scrapping my days as they are but scrapping photos from days past. It's still things I've done or places I've gone, still who and what I am so it should still count, right?
