New layout

I admit it! I am horrible at blogging but will try to do better!

I finally made a new layout! I used Blushbutter's Victorian Wedding kit to make a layout for a quickpage exchange I got in to. I haven't had much time for scrapping lately but when I saw this exchange, I thought it would be nice for Rachel's wedding photos. Now I have over 40 quickpages to add the photos to and I will finally have a book done! Well, I SHOULD anyway! We will see how THAT goes!
Here is the link to Blush's beautiful kit:

I have been creating kits for the Rainbow chat at Digitals, making a few Halloween kits and just trying to finish up some other kits I have been working on for months now! I will add previews of the new kits when I get them!

I am back in school for Dutch. I am still not learning any grammar though so not sure how much good the class will do but we will see!

Other than that, life is pretty normal. This is why I don't write! :o)
Until next time....

Ahhh.....vacation!

We just got back from a fabulous vacation. We spent a week in southern France and then a week in Italy. Italy was by far my favorite but man, was it hot!
All total we went through or stayed in Belgium, Luxembourg, France (stopped in Monaco, too!), Spain, Italy and Switzerland. I took over 1500 photos which really isn't much for 2 weeks but the first week there really wasn't so much to photograph!

This layout uses one of the many photos I took while on vacation. This is a sunflower field I found in the town where we stayed in Italy. I used Bette Duganitz' Sunflower Sue available at Digitalscrapbookpages.
I will have a lot more layouts to post once I get them done.

Now that I know how to add pictures here I will start using this blog again! Well, that's it for now!

Have a great day!

Happy New Year!

Here it is January 1, 2007 and I haven't written a thing since November! See how bad I am at this? This will be one of my resolutions this year; to update my blog at least once a week.

Speaking of resolutions, normally I don't make them. In fact, I make a resolution to NOT make any resolutions each year! Why? I am horrible about keeping resolutions! I get too busy and then forget the things I said I was going to change. This year though, I have created a list of resolutions that I have given myself the whole year to accomplish. None of this, "starting January 1, I will/will not...." This year, I have until December 31 to complete them. Maybe that way I will actually work toward some of the goals I want to achieve this year!
What are my resolutions? Hmmm, do I dare to add them on the internet? Well, maybe some of them!
1. Lose at least 20 pounds by my birthday which is in June. This sounds obtainable! 20 pounds in 6 months. Just a few changes in my diet here and there should do it!
2. Spend less time on the computer! Right now I am not working outside the home so I am on here all day! That should be plenty of time to do the things I need to do. Nights, from dinnertime on, are for other things from now on. Reading, crafts, tv, whatever but no more computer! Well, unless it is to play a computer game with hubby! :o)
3.Create AT LEAST 1 new layout a week! I get so busy creating kits and my other work for scrapbooking that I seldom get layouts of my own made! This year, I will do more of my OWN scrapping!
4. Try to create one new wordart per day for 1HourScrap! Poor Carol goes crazy trying to be sure there is always a new wordart for everyone every day and I have been quite lax in getting some done for her. Now I admit, I hate making wordart because I can never think of cute sayings and if I do, I never know how to create them into a piece of wordart that would look nice on a layout! This year though, I will work harder to make more and help Carol out!
5. Learn some new techniques for my kits. I have only created a few but I already feel like I am in a rut! I love making papers but I am not so adventurous in my patterns. They seem to be the same kit after kit. I need to experiment more.
I need to figure out how to make more elements! There again, tags, ribbons, fasteners.....same thing kit after kit. I need to learn how to make other elements.
6. Read more! I love reading and my MIL and other family members have been so good about finding/giving me English books when they find them and they sit in boxes or on shelves, unread. I will read at least one book a week! (This from someone who used to read a book a day! Amazing how many things the computer changes about one's life!)

I have so many more things on my list this year but that is enough for now! Suffice it to say, there are many things in my life that I feel need to change and this year I am resolving to work on that. One day at a time, one piece at a time. No hurry, no deadlines, just attempts each day on something on my list!

Well, at least I know this is one thing I can cross off this week! I have now updated my blog. :o)

Have a wonderful New Year everyone!
As my mom always says...."May your best day in 2006 be your worst day in 2007"

Bye!

I am blogging!

With all of the blogging going on, I decided it was time to get off my butt and start a blog too! Since I am totally new to blogging, until I figure this all out, this page will be pretty plain. One day, I will "decorate" it in my style though.
I am not sure how much I will write, as even with a diary, I tend not to write too many things down!
Since I plan on using this more for my scrapbooking than personal, don't expect to see alot of what's going on in my life stuff here. Not that I actually think too many people outside of my family and friends will actually read this but you never know!

So, with all that being said, why did I start a blog?
Well, I am VERY into scrapbooking and wanted a way to share my designs. I sell my products at 1hourscrap under the name of Spellweaver. I wanted a place to give out freebies once in awhile and to show off my new products as I create them. You can find my products here: http://www.1hourscrap.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=90_101
I also run the monthly Daily Download Challenge at 1hourscrap. I create a new kit each month and the members get a new piece of it each day. Each week, from the pieces they have collected, they create an "emerging" layout, adding more to it each week until the final week when the completed layout is posted. For each week that a layout is posted, they earn "bonus" pieces; usually quickpages created from the kit or more pieces for the kit. It is great fun and if you haven't already joined us, come on over! You can find the challenge forum here: http://www.1hourscrap.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=11&sid=2d46c5339fc041ddf23e9fc1ce4a6013

(Dec 2007 Edit - I am no longer with 1HourScrap but many of my products can be found in the bargain bins. I leave the link to 1HourScrap up for those who don't know yet about this great site!)

Besides designing for 1hourscrap, I do quality control on kits at Digitals and I am the Layout Team Coordinator at Scrapbookers Playground. I would like to take a minute and say something about SBP Layout Team. This is THE best Layout Team in the digi world! Ok, I may be a bit prejudiced but I know if you take a look at the layouts these ladies create, you will agree! They are all over the gallery at SBP let alone at the many sites on the net!
We could sure use some more members! If you are reading this and are interested in being on a creative team, come join us at Scrapbookers Playground! You get to choose from every designer in the store, making 2 layouts per kit you choose. There is no set minimum per month but if you do a certain amount of layouts, you earn bonus credits that can be used in the store to purchase kits of your choice! This site really rewards their layout team in so many ways and we would love to have more members!

Ok, enough today! You now have a picture anyway, of what I do in the digi world. I'd say check back often but I am not sure how often I will write! lol

Have a wonderful day!
