Another New Layout!

I just love the colors in my Snow Much Fun 2 kit so much, I had to play some more!
This layout is from the Winter Efteling. We went there in January of this year and I am hoping we go again! I LOVE the Efteling!
I finally got the torn and folded template to play with from Scrap Girls. I loved how Linda Cumberland used it on her quickpage (see Winter layout below) so I scraplifted her idea with the folded paper and the items under it. I also used a frame cluster from Lise-Lotte Sunesen from her Frame This Too set.
I noticed when the 2 layouts are side by side, the squares don't match up so if I am going to put them in an album together, I will have to readjust the paper a bit. It wasn't intended as a double page layout but I am anal retentive like that so I will probably end up changing it! lol
Anyway, another layout done! Yea!

I am posting!!!! lol

I actually have 2 new layouts to show off!
I am a new fan of Linda Cumberland over at The Scrapping Garden! I went to her blog for her part of the Christmas Around The World kit that was given away this month and man oh man! I was hooked!
She is in a designer contest at Digital Scrap Garden and you can download her mini kits she made for Parts 1-3! Anyway, I fell in love with them and immediately went and bought one of the kits! They are just TOO CUTE!

My 2 new layouts are quickpages from her "A Winter's Day" kit found here
The first layout has a photo I took of a frosted tree we had last week. Everything was covered in the frost and it was a true Winter Wonderland! Too bad it didn't last through Christmas!
The 2nd photo is of my youngest daughter and her boyfriend before they left for the Kerst Gala (Christmas Dance) earlier this month.
I just LOVE them! I am so glad I found Linda and her beautiful work! You can bet I will be buying lots more of her stuff from now on!

Christmas is still going on here in Holland. Here, we celebrate Dec 25 and 26. Our family also celebrates the 24th since we ARE American so we have 3 days actually! lol
Since we really open our gifts on SinterKlaas (Dec 5) with the in-laws, we really don't do too much for Christmas. Oh, we put up a tree, decorate the house, bake cookies, etc but we don't exchange too many gifts now.
Today, Rene and I did go to the soccer game like we have done for the last 3 Christmas's. Hmmm, is that spelled correctly? lol Anyway, 2nd Christmas Day (Dec 26), usually the whole family goes to a soccer game but Jenny is with her boyfriend and his family this year and Robert just doesn't like going so it was just Rene and I this year! Thank goodness it wasn't so cold this year and they won, like every other year! :o)
The rest of the day will be spent eating yesterday's leftovers and cookies, watching movies on tv and probably some more computer time.

So, that's about it! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Now, on to New Year's!
Until next time......

New layout

I admit it! I am horrible at blogging but will try to do better!

I finally made a new layout! I used Blushbutter's Victorian Wedding kit to make a layout for a quickpage exchange I got in to. I haven't had much time for scrapping lately but when I saw this exchange, I thought it would be nice for Rachel's wedding photos. Now I have over 40 quickpages to add the photos to and I will finally have a book done! Well, I SHOULD anyway! We will see how THAT goes!
Here is the link to Blush's beautiful kit:
Blushbutter's Victorian Wedding

I have been creating kits for the Rainbow chat at Digitals, making a few Halloween kits and just trying to finish up some other kits I have been working on for months now! I will add previews of the new kits when I get them!

I am back in school for Dutch. I am still not learning any grammar though so not sure how much good the class will do but we will see!

Other than that, life is pretty normal. This is why I don't write! :o)
Until next time....

Ahhh.....vacation!

We just got back from a fabulous vacation. We spent a week in southern France and then a week in Italy. Italy was by far my favorite but man, was it hot!
All total we went through or stayed in Belgium, Luxembourg, France (stopped in Monaco, too!), Spain, Italy and Switzerland. I took over 1500 photos which really isn't much for 2 weeks but the first week there really wasn't so much to photograph!

This layout uses one of the many photos I took while on vacation. This is a sunflower field I found in the town where we stayed in Italy. I used Bette Duganitz' Sunflower Sue available at Digitalscrapbookpages.
I will have a lot more layouts to post once I get them done.

Now that I know how to add pictures here I will start using this blog again! Well, that's it for now!

Have a great day!

Happy New Year!

Here it is January 1, 2007 and I haven't written a thing since November! See how bad I am at this? This will be one of my resolutions this year; to update my blog at least once a week.

Speaking of resolutions, normally I don't make them. In fact, I make a resolution to NOT make any resolutions each year! Why? I am horrible about keeping resolutions! I get too busy and then forget the things I said I was going to change. This year though, I have created a list of resolutions that I have given myself the whole year to accomplish. None of this, "starting January 1, I will/will not...." This year, I have until December 31 to complete them. Maybe that way I will actually work toward some of the goals I want to achieve this year!
What are my resolutions? Hmmm, do I dare to add them on the internet? Well, maybe some of them!
1. Lose at least 20 pounds by my birthday which is in June. This sounds obtainable! 20 pounds in 6 months. Just a few changes in my diet here and there should do it!
2. Spend less time on the computer! Right now I am not working outside the home so I am on here all day! That should be plenty of time to do the things I need to do. Nights, from dinnertime on, are for other things from now on. Reading, crafts, tv, whatever but no more computer! Well, unless it is to play a computer game with hubby! :o)
3.Create AT LEAST 1 new layout a week! I get so busy creating kits and my other work for scrapbooking that I seldom get layouts of my own made! This year, I will do more of my OWN scrapping!
4. Try to create one new wordart per day for 1HourScrap! Poor Carol goes crazy trying to be sure there is always a new wordart for everyone every day and I have been quite lax in getting some done for her. Now I admit, I hate making wordart because I can never think of cute sayings and if I do, I never know how to create them into a piece of wordart that would look nice on a layout! This year though, I will work harder to make more and help Carol out!
5. Learn some new techniques for my kits. I have only created a few but I already feel like I am in a rut! I love making papers but I am not so adventurous in my patterns. They seem to be the same kit after kit. I need to experiment more.
I need to figure out how to make more elements! There again, tags, ribbons, fasteners.....same thing kit after kit. I need to learn how to make other elements.
6. Read more! I love reading and my MIL and other family members have been so good about finding/giving me English books when they find them and they sit in boxes or on shelves, unread. I will read at least one book a week! (This from someone who used to read a book a day! Amazing how many things the computer changes about one's life!)

I have so many more things on my list this year but that is enough for now! Suffice it to say, there are many things in my life that I feel need to change and this year I am resolving to work on that. One day at a time, one piece at a time. No hurry, no deadlines, just attempts each day on something on my list!

Well, at least I know this is one thing I can cross off this week! I have now updated my blog. :o)

Have a wonderful New Year everyone!
As my mom always says...."May your best day in 2006 be your worst day in 2007"

Bye!
